The objective of this lab is to examine the political issues (well-being, freedoms, influence) of growth policies. When should a government intervene to preserve or stimulate economic growth? With what objectives? To what extent should these decisions be the result of a completely collective process? What relationship can be established between planning and democratic choice?

Main topics of the lab

  • The concepts of growth and economic development: policies, welfare, and democracy
  • Debt financing growth and development. Sustainability, debt cancellation
  • Growth, ecological transition, and democracy

The program includes students from the two partner universities: the participants will be divided into groups and will have to prepare their presentations (with a written report). Each group will be made up of Italian and French students.

The lab will be in English.
