Aim of this course

The aim of this teaching is to provide students with the basic notions of labour law. given specific reference to the discipline of the employment relationship, and to expand their knowledge of trade union right.
Students are going to be provided with knowledge of the main rules governing the labour market and standard and non-standard employment contracts (fixed-term contracts, employment contracts, etc.), and are going to familiarize with the central principles of labour law through a global and comparative lens.
Aim of this course is to make students understand the rules of the contractual constitution of the employment relationship, to make them aware of the rules that govern the development and the termination of the labour relationship.
We will investigate how labour law can be functional for the firm sustainability.
Key issue of this course are the knowledge and understanding of the principles and laws that govern labour and industrial relations, the principles and legal norms governing the system of collective and individual labour relations, at both the national level and the company level, the techniques of problem solving through a correct application of the general system of rules applied to the concrete framing of individual cases.
The analysis will be carried out with a focus on the requirements of Industry 4.0 and digitisation.
The lectures will be accompanied by the presentation of study cases from external experts and by the analysis of practical cases which will be discussed with the participation of the students. Slides will be used in support of the lectures.
